in Photon Bolt
Hi,
I have owned bolt since before it was bought by photon. I have not done much development but have recently dusted off my code. I noticed that bolt now no longer allows direct to server connections. Given my game needs a persistent server this is a feature I still need. I obviously have the right to use this on the version of bolt I have, but if I upgrade to the latest version does it mean i will loose this?

All versions of Photon Bolt have support for headless servers. https://doc.photonengine.com/en-us/bolt/current/demos-and-tutorials/headless-server1

Sorry, I was referring to direct IP connection, so connecting directly to a dedicated server.0

As long as your dedicated server has ports configured and so on, all traffic will be sent directly instead of through relay once you connect through Photon Bolt Free Matchmaking.
If you want Direct IP connection without Photon Cloud, A2S support, and other features requested by studios, you can get a Photon Bolt Pro subscription.

Ahh ok. So I can still have a dedicated headless, persistent, server running as long as the connections go via photon cloud?0

Yes0

Ok, and just one further question if I may. Photon has a concurrent limit depending on price. Each of these limits also seem to come with a data limit. If I am using it simply to connect players to my server, am I correct in thinking that the data will not go via photon cloud and therefore the data limits will not apply?0

Yes Photon CCU applies to all of our products. Direct connections do not use relay, so there are no data limits or charges.0

Awesome, thanks again.0
