Any kind of Custom Properties are not getting set

Hi,
I just updated to the latest version, v2.18.1, and setting the custom properties for the player or the room, does not seem to set anything. Even if you get the custom properties in the very next line, the hashtable count is always 0. Does anyone else see this issue?
Please suggest some workarounds if possible.
