Best way to test

i am always do unity -> built settings -> "build & run" , than starting the server and starting play mode with the client to test network things.

i tried to do headless server. But you need to compile this too with game chaning things.

maybe creating a bolt entity "dummy character" to test some features ?

How to test it easier ?
