Push rigidbodys you dont own

if I try to push a rigidbody 2d around that does belong to another player it wont really work. I know, that this was already asked but the last discussion is some years ago, so did something changed or is it still impossible?

Why not take ownership of the rigidbody when you need to push it and vice-versa for other players? Everyone can push it, and the person currently interacting with it manages its position, rotation, etc..0
