What's the difference between Realtime & PUN. For this game which one should I use?

I have an idea for a space action shooter that I want to create so I'll need synchronous activities. I also want the game to persist even if no players are logged in. I read the product descriptions by exitgames but I couldn't determine which of these products is the one for me.

For education, what is the difference between the Realtime and PUN products?
Second, which should I use unless it's neither?

    You can use either one. PUN is usually better for beginners.
