Out of nowhere I'm getting this error:

createGame failed, client stays on masterserver: OperationResponse 227: ReturnCode: 32762 (Failed to get server instance.). Parameters: {}.

There is nothing on the twitter feed, nothing mentioned on facebook.

- Apple is trying to evaluate my app.
- It was mentioned on reddit and now people can't get on.

Please Help!

    https://twitter.com/#!/EGCloudStatus

No longer exists, is there something else we can look at for status?
  • I had the same problem. The US servers were down the other day I think. I switched it to the standard server, app.exitgames.com or whatever the address is and it worked fine.

I'm hoping tomorrow we'll get some communication from Exit Games about this. If I'm going to be selling games using this technology, I need to know what's going on. I need to be able to tell my customers what's going on.

    Tobias?

The current status is still on twitter but changed to ExitGamesStatus:
    https://twitter.com/ExitGamesStatus

I'm sorry that the new location isn't more obvious.
The pure server availability is pinged here:

    Couple of questions:
The posted tweet was after it was fixed. It was down a bunch of hours. Is there anything you can do to communicate what's going on when it's happening?

Is there a way to have it try the US server and then switch to another?

Is the main server more reliable than the US server?

Thanks! It's just super frustrating when a problem feels entirely out of my hands.
  • Hi carmine,

first, we are really sorry for the outage of Photon Cloud US on Saturday. I absolutely understand your frustration.

The issue was basically caused because I made a mistake in capacity planning - part of our servers were offline for maintenance, and with an unexpected increase in traffic on the US Cloud, the remaining servers could not provide enough capacity for new games in certain circumstances. Unfortunately, we were not able to recognize the severity of the issue fast enough - and when we did, we were busy to restore full service availability, and missed proper communication. I'm really sorry for both - the long service interruption and the lack of information - and want to apologize.

In general, all Photon Cloud regions / servers are equally stable. We are working with top hosting providers who provide outstanding service, and the technical setup (hardware, software, network, ..) and the administrative processes are very similar in all regions.

Service stability is a top prio for us - we know that you & your customers are relying on our service. And I also promise to pay more attention to proper communication in future. :) A better fallback solution is on our list as well (connecting to a different region might be an option). I think that you can change your client implementation and add a fallback URL yourself for now.

I hope that I could answer some questions - let me know if there is anything else. :)
