High Latency when connecting to Photon server on LAN

Hello,

I'm using photon server to create a LAN connection for a game server I am running. For some reason I'm getting 15-20ms of latency when connected to the server through photon even though the computer that is running photon and the computer connecting through the LAN is hard wired. You would think I should get 0 or 1ms instead of 15-20. Am I missing something?

Is there a way I can ping photon server directly to see whether not Photon is the issue or the server that I'm connecting to?

Thank you,

  • hi, @xDodgeball

how do you ping? what are you using?

client lib has built in ping that is sent every second if I remember right, and I think there is also Ping operation that you can send from client side.

I did check our RTT for EU and see that it is around 15 ms

  • Hey, @chvetsov

I ended up getting the low ping I wanted. I am running the server on a local network. So that's why I was confused about the high ping. On another note would you happen to know about how to change the authentication time out in photon server?

    Thanks,
