Photon Server on Amazon EC2, client won't connect

I've set up Photon Server on Amazon EC2 and it is up and running. I have a Unity game I developed which has been working perfectly on Photon Cloud but when I set the Server IP address in the client's Server Settings to point to the Amazon EC2 server it won't connect. I believe that the ports are correctly configured but I have even tried turning the server's firewall off and that doesn't help. When I've searched online for possible reasons I can't find anything to explain. (I'm a software developer rather than a network security specialist.) Is there anything you can suggest?

  • hi, @Chris_Bullen

I know that on Azure you have to setup special policy first. May be same is true for Amazon. Please contact them and as what you need

I don't know what is meant by "special policy" but that's not the issue in this case. I eventually discovered that GameServer.xml hadn't been updated to include the Public IP address in the Master Server section. I had to make the change manually.
  • glad that you found it
