Are Network and actual online play 2 different things?

Hello all, I started using Photon last week and have got a small game working between two different clients on my PC, and yesterday I sent the game to my friend to show them my progress, but he wasn't able to launch the game past the "join lobby" screen, he then asked me if the game is connected to a port and I wasn't sure what to tell him as I thought that PUN handled all of that, and going thru documentation I can't seem to find where to actually print out what Port or Socket I'm connected to. Wondering what steps I need to take in order to let my friend play my game with me, or if something else is going wrong.

The game works perfectly well across my computer, but issues arise when I sent it to a friend.
