How to get the player that left a room on application quit

I have been trying for a while to get this to work properly. I tried setting a room property on application quit but it works sometimes and other times it doesn't. I also tried sending an RPC with the Force Messages call as well but that worked just as well as the previous method. What is the/a proper way to tell other clients who left on application quit?
