Connecting to Photon Voice makes my speakers sound worse.

Hello, I am implementing Photon Voice into my game and it seems that when I connect, the speakers on my computer including the audio coming from places outside of Unity seem to get distorted and change. In some cases, it completely mutes the audio playing outside of unity. Is this a common issue?

Thank you for your help. This has become a large issue for us doing demo calls.

    Hi @dwalch,

    Thank you for choosing Photon!

This is a new report for us.
    How can we reproduce?

What is the Photon Voice version you use?
What is the Unity version you use?
Do you use Photon MicrophoneType or Unity MicrophoneType from Recorder?
Does this issue happen on Unity Editor or from a build?
    What is the target platform?
What devices (model and OS) does this issue happen on?
Does this issue happen with our demo scenes?
  • I had this too with Photon. 2 + Photon Voice 2 + Unity 2018.5. It happened only when my Macbook used Recorder.MicType.Photon.

    Hi @Burny123,

    How can we reproduce?

What is the Photon Voice version you use?

Does this issue happen on Unity Editor on macOS or from a standalone macOS build?
Does this happen on all macOS machines or only your Macbook? What macOS it is? Mojave?
  • I am using the latest update of the normal Photon Voice, Unity 2018.2.10f1, and Photon MicrophoneType. This issue happens in both the Mac editor and Mac builds. My target platform is standalone on Mac and seems to be happening on the latest operating systems (Mojave).
