Warning: "Duplicate Shortcut Identifier found: Component/Photon Networking/Photon View. Ignoring"

I'm getting many of these warnings after upgrading to Unity 2018.3:

Duplicate Shortcut Identifier found: Component/Photon Networking/Photon View. Ignoring
UnityEditor.EditorAssemblies:ProcessInitializeOnLoadAttributes()
PUN v1.92

  • I had it happen to me today, kind of killed my whole unity when I couldn't add components anymore.
  • Yep, I can't add components anymore. I have to do it through the "Component" window menu. Hoping that upgrading to Photon2 fixes the issue. Hopefully someone from the team could address this.
  • Is someone looking into this??? I can't add components because of this and it's extremely frustrating

    Hi @FRickReich,

    Hi @Rhys, @wnrud709,

    Thank you for choosing Photon!

    ---

    Thank you all for reporting this issue and sorry for the inconvenience!
    I think both PUN (Classic/1) and PUN2 have an issue with Unity 2018.3+ and we are looking into it.

    It's related to the Component shortcut of PhotonView.
    Something has changed in Unity 2018.3.

    So could you try my suggestion from here.
