PUN and async games

I've been looking around online for tips on how to make an async, turn based game. I haven't found many recent answers but from what I've read, realtime and playfab was the way to go (about a year ago) and I was wondering if PUN supports async / persistent rooms yet? Or do i need to use the realtime sdk for unity for that? I need support for disconnects and rejoins without ending the room.
