Simple Time of day

Hello there, first, my English is not very good , so forgive me if I have bad grammar , second, i am relatively new to the networking, and i have a simple question, i would like to send the time of day (a variable that contains the current time) to clients when they connect to the server (p2p), I read something about send "events" but i really don't know how to do it, i think it's something simple to do, so if someone gives me a help, i'll appreciate it!

I understand basically how events works, but don't know how to take that variable (time variable or world seed or whatever) from the server and send it to the client WHEN connected.. Could someone give me a hand?
